Highlights: Artist Reception!

What an exciting evening at Casita Del Pueblo! Yolanda Garcia outdid herself--Music,Food, Wine, Artwork, Artists,Art Patrons and the special treat of a Professional Make up Artist: Marina Mestaz,(zombielicious@yahoo.com)creating a living doll of a skelly girl! I had 6 pieces in this show: 4 are shown here--the canvas behind the make up artist--Image of a Woman wearing the red top, the small stone goddess, the Skeleton in Masquerade, and the small Glamour Girl holding a coconut!

Gallery Show

I am participating in a group show that is Opening April 19th at Casita Del Pueblo Gallery in Whittier. The opening is 6 -10, and there will be food, entertainment, a Dj, so if you can, come to the Artist Reception!

ACEO Bounty

The challenge was to create an art card from trash/found items.

Looking around my studio, there was a wrapper from a Reeses bar (How'd that get there?) and some backing from tape, and some printed adhesive paper and some torn directory pages ( I use old phone books as a work surface--catches spills, and rip off the top sheet to find clean sheet below!)
Anyhoo, put it all together and I found a sweet, choco-Holly-go-lightly gal, named Candy.

Florals and Still Life

Lately I have been compelled to do florals, as well as my typical feline art. I have been gathering small bouquets from my garden, and creating little floral paintings. You can get lost in the detail, the intensity of the vibrant colors, and the perfection of Natures blossoms.
