Illustration Friday- April 24th 2009

This weeks topic was THEATER.
The image that immediately came to mind was drama...in its many forms: teen angst, parent child conflict, Drama "Queens" etc. Whether we are the performers or squirming in the audience, our daily lives can become a bit of Theater.

What I did for Lent

Rather than "giving something up" for Lent, I chose to do an Angel Project. I wanted to create an Angel A Day. It was a challenge. Often the day would slip away and I had to push myself to sit down, open my heart/mind, and see what image would ask to be created. Here is my Lenten "Angel a Day" collection.
Most are ACEO size (2.5 x 3.5). Media used was pencil, Ink, Acrylics and Watercolor.

Charity Auction for the American Red Cross

I belong to an Artist Group called KATS.
This group is a gathering of Artists who create Cat themed Artwork.
The group has gotton together for a worthy cause: Raising money for the Red Cross. Each participating Artist contributed an ACEO (Art Cards Editions and Originals)with the theme of Hope--represented with the hidden image of a Daffodil or the word HOPE somewhere on the card.

The collection of Art Cards is being Auctioned on Ebay with all proceeds benefiting the Red Cross. I have one of my Cat Art Cards included in this auction for Charity, and if you would like to see the collection please

Spring has sprung!

The Blossoms and the Buds in the garden have inspired a new series called: Pin Up Peonies, or, for those over 18: Sexpot Peonies! Gasp!

A Model and an Angel

Surrounded by angels, be they spirit or furred.
This is a new piece titled: In Prayer. It is ACEO size; 2.5 x 3.5. One of a series I am doing based on Angel imagery. The furry white guy? He is Boba-licious. A fine model, I must say.

Oppossum ACEO

Did you know, that I one time raised an orphan oppossum? I named her Ophelia. She was frightfully sweet. Loved to eat bananas, of all things. This is an ACEO sized painting I did of her this week. It is in my Etsy store.
