About A4FH
Art for FieldHaven is a group of cat-loving eBay artists who have banded together to help support FieldHaven's new shelter facility by listing art during the period of September 6 - 15. The current "cat trailer" must be removed and replaced with a new building. In order to accomplish this task, FieldHaven is trying to raise $150,000.

About FieldHaven (fieldhaven.com)

FieldHaven Feline Rescue was established in 2003 by sisters Jann Flanagan and Joy Smith to provide a safe haven for rescued cats and kittens while awaiting adoption. FieldHaven is located on a private horse ranch in rural Lincoln. The cage-free shelter consists of a converted mobile home and an indoor/outdoor “habitat”. Most of the rescued cats and kittens are located at FieldHaven, but there are a growing number of volunteers who provide foster care for kitties that need isolation, medical treatment, socialization and other care until they are ready for adoption.

Being on a ranch is one of the things that make FieldHaven unique. Cats and kittens get used to a lot of activity including dogs and kids – lots of kids. FieldHaven has a very popular youth volunteer program where parents are encouraged to volunteer with their children. FieldHaven also provides educational programs for schools and youth organizations.

Besides the youth volunteer and education programs, FieldHaven has a senior adoption program called Mature Cats for Mature People where the adoption fee is waived for seniors adopting senior cats.

FieldHaven has a Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) to assist Lincoln residents with spaying and neutering of stray and feral cats. There are ongoing efforts to educate the public about the option of Trap, Neuter, Release (TNR) to control feral cat colonies.

Illustration Friday: FIERCE

I missed last weeks challenge: Hoard. I imagined an illustration with an army of cats, spilling into the scene. A reflection on my current collection O'Cats.
However, this week, the word Fierce was just asking for a cat. A cat that thinks it's a tiger. Six Pounds of fierce!

Art O Mat

The First Art-O-Mat project is complete and about to be distributed to a machine somewhere across the Nation. I am now working on my second approved entry. Whoo hoo!

Gotta Guitar

I am excited about a new project. I am creating a design for the front of this Guitar, which belongs to a musician/band rocker dude. More info and images to come, as the project unfolds.

Friday the 13th

For Illustration Friday this week, the topic was : PUNCHLINE.
Here is my submission--

A Punchline...the zinger..."It's a joke! Get it? Get it?"
This image has nothing to do with the memory of being pregnant and having a tubster come up to me and announce to the room that I: "Sure was getting fat!"
MmmHmm, nothing at all.
Art... the Ultimate revenge.
That and tell all autobiographies.(So watch out, you!)

I belong to an Artist Group called KATS.
This group is a gathering of Artists who create Cat themed Artwork.
The group has gotton together for a worthy cause: Raising money for the Red Cross. Each participating Artist contributed an ACEO (Art Cards Editions and Originals)with the theme of Hope--represented with the hidden image of a Daffodil or the word HOPE somewhere on the card.

The collection of Art Cards is being Auctioned on Ebay with all proceeds benefiting the Red Cross. I have one of my Cat Art Cards included in this auction for Charity, and if you would like to see the collection please

JUNE Already!

Here is a quick catch up.

This week I have been working on my blocks for the ART O MAT dispensers.

I did an illustration for BEACH CITIES CAT CLINIC (310 679 4988) to advertise their Cat Grooming Services.

And the topic for May 29th "Illustration Friday" was Baby.
Here is my illustration for challenge.
Baby

Illustration Friday: "Illustration Friday is a weekly creative outlet/participatory art exhibit for illustrators and artists of all skill levels. It was designed to challenge participants creatively. We believe that every person has a little creative bone in their body. Illustration Friday just gives a no-pressure, fun excuse to use it. No clients looking for a particular thing. No one judging the outcome of the work. It's a chance to experiment and explore and play with visual art. So welcome, novices and pros alike.

Speaking of Faith

Sunday on KPCC
The Radio program: Speaking of Faith, with Krista Tippett.

I hesitate to share something non-art related, but thought you might be interested to know that I will be a part of the radio program, Speaking of Faith. The topic was Catholicism, and a few weeks ago listeners were invited to go to the website and share their memories, thoughts, hopes and beliefs regarding todays Catholic Church. I did that, and was contacted by Rob McGinley Meyers of American Public Radio. He asked if I would participate in a short interview and read my submission, so that it could be recorded for possible use on air. I was interviewed by Trent Gillis, a very kind and patient man, and to my honor, my submission was selected, and I will be one of nine contributers that will be featured on Sundays on air program.

If you follow this link, you can listen live, and get a fuller understanding of the theme and contributers.
